PERSONALISE

Tell me the number between 1-214 that you would like stamped on to your personalised disc.

Each disc is individually stamped by hand here in my Lake District workshop.  I hand stamp rather than engrave the piece, which creates a more handmade look.  Any irregularities should be appreciated as part of the bespoke design.

May I suggest double checking that you have entered the correct number in the personalisation box, as I am unable to accept returns on customised pieces.

IMPORTANT INFO

As each piece is made by hand each one may vary slightly from that shown in the image. I cut and shape each tag, disc, mountain and fell design. Please note that each mountain and fell design is my interpretation of the scene.

Don't forget to clean your silver regularly with an appropriate silver polishing cloth to help prevent it from tarnishing. Feel free to check out our jewellery care guide to see how best to care for your jewellery.

HALLMARKING

In the UK there are strict rules about selling precious metals.  Under the 1973 Hallmarking Act, any item of silver that is above 7.78g must be hallmarked.  Items of gold above 1g must also be hallmarked.
At present, all of my items fall below this requirement and do not require hallmarking.
However, I do have my hallmark registered with the London Assay Office and if you would like a piece to be hallmarked please get in touch.  Please bear in mind that it can take a few weeks for the process to be completed and there would be an additional charge to cover the costs.  As my pieces are of a contemporary design, I have opted for the hallmark to be lasered rather than punch stamped.
It is worth noting that 925 on silver is not a hallmark and with the right tools can be stamped on silver by anyone.

HAND STAMPING?

Hand stamping is a method of creating a permanent mark on metal.
This technique involves placing a letter, number, symbol or design stamp upon metal and then carefully hitting it with a hammer to leave a permanent impression.
Due to the nature of hand stamping, sometimes a slight impression of the design may be seen on the reverse of the metal.  This is because the force of the stamp will displace the metal slightly and push it through to the reverse.  I always try to keep this to a minimum where possible.
Each impression may vary slightly in its position on the metal and the depth of the stamp may also vary slightly,
Sometimes the stamp designs are highlighted by filling in the impression with colour via an enamel maker pen, enamel liquid, specialist paste or a patina.  Most often the colour is black.  This allows the impression to stand out more.  For a more subtle effect, I don't always colour-fill our designs. If you are in doubt about this, please feel free to get in touch.
I love the fact that no two impressions will ever be the same as they are done by hand.  Please don't see this as a negative but as something to love about your handmade item, as this means that each one is truly unique to you.

DESCRIPTION

DISPATCH TIME IS CURRENTLY 1-2 WEEKS

If you have a Wainwright number why not celebrate your hiking achievements!

Many of us enjoy walking the fells of the Lake District as documented by Alfred Wainwright in his wonderfully illustrated books.  With 214 fells mentioned, many also like to tick them off!  Those hiking the Wainwright's often have a number out of 214 and you are very proud of it (and rightly so)!

So, if you are looking for something to mark your hikes, this modern keyring would be perfect.  The keyring has been crafted from high-quality recycled silver and has been stamped by hand.  The design has been given a soft shine and the lettering has been left clear of colour for a more subtle appearance.

If you would like the letters filled with colour please get in touch via email and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Once your number changes, just order your new number and attach it via the small split ring and reattach it to the keyring.

You can order additional discs here.
